Giving Young Consumers Confidence - DVD 'Buy Rights - Have Your Say'

Giving young consumers confidence
The Consumer Council for Northern Ireland has published a DVD, 'Buy Rights - Have Your Say' with support materials to enable young people to become more confident consumers, aware of their rights and able to express themselves in an assured and effective manner.

Listen to Buy Rights - Have Your Say DVD and read the accompanying Resource Pack (1.7 MB)

Young people are frequently bombarded with advertising for music, fashion, games, sports gear and so on. But what happens if there is a problem? What if these purchases are faulty? 'Buy Rights - Have Your Say' has been designed for youth workers and others working with 13 - 19 year olds to increase their personal and social development. The support materials in the pack have been created for facilitators as part of other programmes.

Information about getting copies of the DVD and resource materials can be obtained from the Consumer Council Northern Ireland or you can call them on 028 9067 2488.

Consumer Council has also produced a Shoppers' Rights Card as part of a Smart Shoppers Kit. The Kit has a Receipt Wallet and lists shoppers' rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979.
